Questions and Anwsers
-
Does Holistic Arts only do Mobile Massage? Yes, as a new practice, it is essential to save costs and build clientele before spending monies on renting a space. Once I can build a strong list of returning clients, I will look into renting a space.
-
How do I benefit from mobile massage? Imagine being pampered in the comfort of your own space. You have more control of how the space looks and feels. You won't need to worry about driving before or after the appointment. You can simply relax in your space. Evening massages tend to be most popular time, so you can ease into a blissful state of relaxation and rest.
-
How much space is needed to set up? We'll need about 10'x7' all together. The massage table itself is approximately 6'x2.5'. I'll need an additional 2'-3' around the table to move around effectively and safely.
-
How should I prepare my space for an in home massage? The space where we set up should be clear of all tripping hazards. Additionally, the pathway leading to the space should be clear so I can travel safely to and from the work area. If you have a noisy home (pets or children etc) try to minimize noise as best as possible. Efforts will help heighten your self care time for maximum relaxation.
-
What types of massage do you provide? I provide massages with an array of styles. Modalities include sports, pregnancy, deep tissue, medical, thai stretching, myofascial, neuro muscular, trigger point, intuitive, emotional traumatic release. Often I combine techniques from different styles to meet the needs of my clients.
-
What additional services are available? Hot Stones, Gua Sha, cupping, enhanced foot massage with hot towels and scrub. These items are available for an additional $20 each.
-
Can we do massage outside? Absolutely! We need to discuss the location and the weather conditions. Outdoor massages are best for warmer weather, not available in the Winter. We'll need to ensure you'll have enough privacy when selecting the location. Outdoor massages can provide a more natural and serene experience for all involved.
-
What areas are covered for travel? I am focused on serving my local community, providing reduced cost to those clients within 1-10 miles. Please review my Pricing page. I am able to travel as far as I want/can with additional fees. It is preferred that longer distances are designated for higher duration and or multiple massages. Couples and massage parties are ideal. Contact me for a quote.

It's my first massage ever, what can I expect? All clients can expect to have a thorough check in regarding their health history, including injuries and areas of discomfort. We will set goals for the session and discuss future goals for continued treatment. You can expect to feel heard, cared for, relaxed, have lower tension and pain. Not to mention a good night of sleep typically comes after massages, especially in your home, where you can relax afterwards.
-
It's my first massage in my home, what can I expect? Having a massage in your home requires some general clean up of the space for setup. When I arrive, I'll begin my setup, which generally takes 20 minutes. After the setup is complete, we will discuss your goals for the session and go over any questions you may have. It is helpful if you have a robe handy, for ease of getting undressed and on the table. The robe is also good in case you need to use the restroom during the session, so you don't have to get fully dressed again but not a requirement. Once we are done discussing your treatment plan, I will use your restroom to wash my hands and wait while you disrobe and get on the table. You can call out to me when you're ready for me to come out of the restroom and begin the treatment. We will do a full body massage, avoiding private and sensitive areas. Depending on your areas needing more focus, we will begin face up or down. After the treatment, I will go into the restroom again to wash my hands and await your call. We'll then check in about how you're feeling, go over feedback and then I'll begin taking down the equipment, which will take about 20 minutes.
-
Do I remove all of my undergarments for the massage? This is completely up to you, whatever you are most comfortable with. I'll say that having clothing on makes it difficult to obtain a certain massage flow with the strokes. Since your private areas will be covered the entire time with the sheets, I am comfortable with all undergarments removed. If we are focused only on upper body, it will be okay to keep your pants and socks on. You can also keep them on regardless, if it makes you most comfortable as I can work over your clothing.
-
How will the sheets be used to cover my body? There are various options for massage draping. If you tend to be very modest, we can do Western draping. This means that each area will be worked on individually and covered back up afterwards. Other styles include half sheet, which is when the sheet is covering half of your body, including your gluteal cleft. When you're face up, we will ensure that your chest is covered when doing the half sheet. The other option is lomi draping, this is when your whole body will be undraped except for the sheet between your legs, covering your gluteal cleft and or private areas when face up. We can use a towel or the sheet to cover your chest when face up with the lomi drape, if you are comfortable with having your chest exposed, you'll have to provide consent for that. The lomi drape option provides easier access for a generous flow from head to tow.
-
How can I trust someone new coming into my home? I understand it can be hard to trust a new person in your home. There shouldn't be any times where I am left alone in an area, unless you're comfortable or unless I'm in the restroom. Additionally, every massage therapist has to undergo very thorough background checks before establishing their license. You can look up the massage license for validity and for information on any potential complaints that may have been filed against the therapist. Being that I have done mobile massage for several years, visiting numerous new clients houses, you'll be able to see reviews from those who have had me into their home, this tends to help ease the stress a bit.
-
What if my home is damaged or I am injured during the massage? There have not been any damage or injuries to date through the duration of my massage experience. I am fully insured through AMTA, you could review my coverage information if needed.
-
Do you come to hotels or air bnb? Yes, absolutely. Please see information under the Pricing page to understand pricing and travel fees.
-
I have a disability, what ways can the process be adjusted to suite my needs? If you are wheelchair bound, I am able to work on you in the chair. Fully clothed. If you are unable to get onto the massage table, I can bring a massage mat to use as an alternative. This means you would lay on the mat, close to the ground, fully clothed or not. Draping will apply for clients who wish to be unclothed on the mat. If you have issues laying on your front or back, we can do a massage side lying. There are multiple options for adjusting the treatment as needed.
-
What materials do I need to have? You do not need any materials for the massage. I come fully equipped. Having access to an electrical outlet will be needed for the massage table warmer and for the Hot stones, unless you don't need or want either.
-
What is the process for couples massage? The couples massages are done one after the other. We'll do a check in before each session to see what each individuals goals are. There will be about a 15 minute break between clients to reset the table.
-
What is the process for group massage? Group massage parties takes some preparation as their needs to be a schedule built up that includes breaks. Generally there will be a host, whomever lives at the location of the massage party. I will work with the host to gain details on the participants. I can comfortably perform up to 5 or 6 massages in one party, depending on client needs and duration. With having multiple massages, you can expect to have discounted rates. Contact me for a quote.
-
I have sensitivities to scents and oils, what products are available? Generally I use grapeseed oil, with our without essential oils, depending on your needs. I also like to use shea butter. If you have a preference please mention before the appointment time. You can also provide your own oil. Additionally, I use scent free laundry detergent and do not use scented perfumes or oils on my personal clothing or body. If you are sensitive to scents, please disclose this asap so I can ensure to have the right product with me.
-
Is it okay to have pets in the home? Yes, I love animals and I am not allergic. If your animal is aggressive, please put them in a separate room. It is okay if your pet lays under or near the table but if they are trying to jump onto the table, we may need to put them in a separate space. If your animals are loud, this will impact your relaxation experience so I suggest trying to find care or have them in a space where the noise will be minimal to our location. This is not my preference, just a suggestion to ensure more of a blissful experience for you. If you have a strong scent from your pets, please try to eliminate with a spray, candle or incense.
-
How can I get the best out of my in home massage session? Clear your space, dim your lights, play some music you enjoy, communicate your needs and goals including any changes you need during the session. Other things to consider is temperature and sound. I am okay with candles and incense and find them quite enjoyable.
-
Are you able to come up stairs for the set up? I am able to come up stairs but it can be difficult if there are a lot. I prefer an elevator if available for apartment homes. There will be an additional set up fee of $10 for clients with stairs in their home, leading to the setup space. If there are multiple flights of stairs, the fee is $20. The reason being is the massage table and equipment can weigh quite a bit and stairs make it difficult, exhausting and unsafe. Not to mention it takes more time to get to the space and begin the setup.
-
Do you take insurance? I can take HSA cards but I am not set up to bill insurance at this time. I will eventually get there. Please check back after June 2026. I am able to provide receipts for you to send to your insurance company, but you will need to handle the payment and have them reimburse you.
-
I have a skin condition and or a cut, is it okay to get a massage? We can discuss specific skin conditions, but for the most part I am able to work around them and or avoid the area. For cuts, you'll want to have a bandage of some sort covering your injury.
-
I have recently had surgery, is it okay to get a massage? Yes. In fact, massage helps with recovery and prevents scar tissue buildup. We can discuss the specifics of the surgery before booking the appointment.
-
Can massage help with injury recovery? Yes, massage is a great tool to help your body reset and recover. I have a background in medical massage so I am familiar with an array of injury treatments. We can create goals to improve certain injuries or limitations, range of motion and mobility etc.
-
How does Holistic Arts Massage differ from other massage businesses? Holistic Arts varies by being a single operated small business, female owned. I am very empathic and care deeply about my clients well being. I listen, take notes, keep track of our sessions to track progress, adjust my style and pressure as needed, attempt to calm your nervous system, provide a safe space for you to share any trauma related information. I recognize we are all human and we all need touch. I operate heavily from my heart and intuition, I listen to the story your body shares. I am affordable so that people can stay committed to their self care and healing. I am compassionate and supportive. I am flexible and eager to meet clients needs.
-
What if I need to cancel last minute? The cancelation policy requires you to cancel before 24 hours of the appointment. There will be a 50% charge of total service costs for any appointments cancelled within less than 24 hours. For no call and no show, the fee will be 100%. You'll have to pay ahead of time for all appointment bookings. If you have an emergency, you can cancel within less than 24 hours but please do not take advantage of this. My time and your time is valuable. If we have an appointment booked and I have time blocked out on my calendar for you, this means I cannot book others in that appointment time. If you cancel last minute, this means I am missing out on profit and another client is missing out on care. As a small business with low rates, this is extremely important to keep in mind.
